Karbholz - Vollgas Rock 'n' Roll (Full throttle Rock'n'Roll)

KARBHOLZ are back! After the successful album ‚Rastlos‘ (# 16 in the German album charts) the boys from small town Ruppichteroth (30 miles from Cologne) followed up with the next burner KARMA. It’s already the 6th longplayer in the career of KARBHOLZ and was released in GAS on January 30th 2015 via METALVILLE (Rough Trade). KARMA became the biggest success in the band’s history and entered the German charts on #7. The album stayed in the German hot 100 for 5 weeks. The album also charted in Austria and Switzerland. A sold out tour through Germany and Switzerland followed in February 2015.

Eight years after the first demo tape and after five albums, KARMA is the musically most varied work of the four punk rockers. But Torben Höffgen (singer), Adrian Kühl (guitar), Stefan Wirths (bass) and Henning Münch (drums) always remained faithful to themselves: powerful voice, cheeky, hard, sometimes deliberately and thoughtful, but always honest, uncomfortable and straight.

KARBHOLZ reflect the past years, privately as well as in business, and with their message from the song SINK ODER SCHWIMM (sink or swim) they get it to the point: Karma is an asshole, if you are one, too!

KARMA is already a milestone for the band, maybe also for the whole music scene: clear guitar riffs meet catchy hooklines, arranged creatively and full of stylistic diversity.

The songs content shows an enormously multifaceted wealth. KARBHOLZ talk about the powerless all day life, wild wishes, hidden feelings, the rage against feeling life, to be in pure with yourself and your surroundings. Say ‘YES’ to life. Scream out, dance, dream, cry or bash – all of this is KARMA.

KARBHOLZ have matured and have reinvented themselves in the journey to the ‘me’. After 100% (2011) and Rastlos (restless) (2013) they’ve moved again in the studio of the producer Andy Classen (Rykers, Holy Moses), as the continue of good cooperation. The known KARBHOLZ sound got extended with totally new facets, which were totally unknown for them until then. So you recently hear sounds of piano, timple, accordion, Hammond organ or trumpet. During the intensive studio work, which took six months, the creatively and friendly coexistence never suffered. Quite the reverse! New instruments, new arrangements, new ways!

The musicians know very exactly, where KARBHOLZ wants to stay in life and in the scene. With songs like Kein Rock’n’ Roll with guest singer Felix Volmert (The Beatburners), the band gives a clear musically answer and shows the middle finger to every doubtful and masked germanomania. Singer Torben’s screaming with fervency refrains like ‘Euch soll der Teufel hol’n (go to hell), Ich glaube Euch kein Wort! Ihr seid alles, aber kein Rock’n’Roll!‘ (I don’t believe one single word that you say! You’re everything, but Rock’n’Roll). KARBHOLZ have no place for blunt slogans and yesterday’s ideas. ‚Wir haben keinen Bock auf Euren Heimatscheiß‘ (We don’t want your pseudo patriotic fascistic bullshit), the band says.

What began in 2006 with a handmade demo, advanced to an accepted project in the rock scene. With Rastlos (2013), the four boys jumped on the big stages of the republic. Thousands of enthusiastic fans, like at Wacken Open Air or Summerbreeze, verify the status of the band. KARBHOLZ inspire with a big repertoire and a great stage show including a decent prize of humor – on every show, on every tour. Not at least at the annually HEIMSPIEL (home game), an advanced festival of the band which celebrates its 10 years anniversary in June 2015.
