Some good ‘Karma’ for you

ARCHITECTS OF THE NEW GERMAN PUNK ROCK MOVEMENT KARBHOLZ SET THEIR SIGHTS ON NORTH AMERICA WITH A WHOLE LOTTA KARMA

SIXTH STUDIO ALBUM TO BE RELEASED IN NORTH AMERICA JULY 24TH VIA METALVILLE RECORDS

After seeing their latest effort KARMA released in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (GAS) earlier this year and debut on the German Hot 100 chart at #7, the members of German punk outfit KARBHOLZ Torben Höffgen (vocals), Adrian Kühn (guitar), Stefan Wirths (bass), and Henning Münch (drums) are elated to finally have their music hit western shores this summer.

Having also charted in Austria and Switzerland the band played a sold out tour through Germany and Switzerland in February 2015.

Hailing from the small town of Ruppichteroth (30 miles southeast of Cologne), the members of KARBHOLZ have always remained faithful to themselves through a powerful voice – cheeky, hard and sometimes deliberately and thoughtful, but always honest, uncomfortable and straight to the point at the same time.

Now, eight years after the first demo tape and after five albums, KARMA, the band’s sixth album, and arguably most varied work musically, has been scheduled for a July 24th release in North America via Metalville Records.

KARBHOLZ reflect on past years both privately as well as in business, and with their message from the song “Sink Oder Schwimm” (sink or swim) they deliver the blunt point: Karma is an asshole, if you are one, too!

Already considered to be a milestone for the band, and possibly for the global music scene as well, the songs found on KARMA offer an enormously multifaceted wealth of clear guitar riffs blended with catchy hook lines and creative arrangements full of stylistic diversity contained within.

Lyrically, KARBHOLZ talk about the powerless all day life, wild wishes, hidden feelings, the rage against feeling life, to be truthful with one’s self and your surroundings. Say ‘YES’ to life. Scream out, dance, dream, cry or bash – all of this is KARMA.

Produced by Andy Classen (Rykers, Holy Moses), the sound that fans have come to know and expect has been expanded with totally new facets including the implantation of piano, timple (a traditional Spanish 5-string plucked string instrument of the Canary Islands), accordion, Hammond organ, and trumpet.  During the intensive studio sessions which took six months, the creativity and friendly coexistence never wavered.  Quite the reverse! New instruments, new arrangements = new ways!

All four members know exactly where they want KARBHOLZ to stay in both everyday life and within the scene. With songs like “Kein Rock ’n’ Roll” with guest singer Felix Volmert of The Beatburners, Höffgen’s screaming with fervent refrains like ‘Euch soll der Teufel hol’n (go to hell), Ich glaube Euch kein Wort! Ihr seid alles, aber kein Rock’n’Roll!‘ (I don’t believe you one single word! You’re everything, but no Rock’n’Roll), collectively, they raise the middle finger and offer a clear musical answer to every doubtful and masked Germanomaniac.

What began in 2006 with a handmade demo, advanced to an accepted project in the rock scene. With Rastlos, the four boys jumped on the big stages of the republic. Thousands of enthusiastic fans, like at Wacken Open Air or Summerbreeze, verify the status of the band.

KARBHOLZ inspire with a big repertoire and a great stage show including a decent sense of humor – on every show, on every tour. Not at least at the annually HEIMSPIEL (home game), an advanced festival of the band which celebrates its 10 year anniversary this month of June.
